The minutes of the Brixham Urban District Council Harbour Committee for 1962 /1963 relating to Brixham Youth Club read as follows

13th Nov. 1962 - "Youth Club - The Clerk presented a request form the Steering Committee of the new Brixham Youth Club asking if the Committee would allow the Club to have a mooring in the Inner Harbour where they could moor a boat to be used as the HQ of the club. Recommended that the Committee inform the Steering Committee that there is insufficient room in the Inner Harbour for the purposes which they require."

It was decided repair costs were too high so she would be put up for sale as scrap. She lay for a time in Old Mill Creek after a youth club made an unsuccessful bid to acquire her as a floating headquarters. She was moored beside an old friend who she had last worked with in 1939. Dartmouth Castle, or what remained of her, was again at her side. Would the same fate befall Compton?
