Enclosed you will find photos and write-ups of the Compton Castle and dad. I hope you find the photos of interest, especially the ones when he bought it from Kingswear. My sister in law had them printed from slides.

His sister and brother-in-law Sam and Alice Baume only bought in on the cafe side they didn't have any shares in the boat whatsoever.

Dad and my brother (both sadly passed on) built the wheel house at his home address Station road, Reddish, Stockport. They then took it to Dartmouth and it fitted perfectly. He was a very clever man.

The boat opened in 1965.

The Onedin line was in 1972.

The Bird's Eye date I think is 1966.

My sister-in-law told me there was a window in the boat with two etchings in the glass, one of the historic Compton Castle outside Torquay, and the Compton Castle paddle steamer, but she said she never took a photo of it.

I hope you find the items enclosed interesting .

Yours sincerely

Barbara Allen
