It is said the picture of Miss Prettijohn above right was taken by her nephew early in November 1967, but this is only heresay. See how the village is in ruins.


Also in November 1967 Ray Demelweek is hovering around Dartmouth, still taking a keen interest in Totnes Castle. He has recently met an American collector of nautical brass and it put him in mind of those portholes now barely visible under the paddle steamer's odd superstructure. However from the general demeanour of the vessel he guessed the sailing project was in trouble. He made inquiries. The owner was ill.
