Some parts of Compton's story have been been difficult to authenticate. But those tales in harmony with the spirit of the boat have been included, with my blue 'cloud of caution'. Much of the hearsay concerned Dominic Robb and his wife Jean. The last tale of them together was on page 23, when they watched Compton Castle being towed to Looe on the 19th May 1978, destined for great things!

Dominic died the day I first saw the boat in Truro on the 27th September 2000. His wife sent me a lot of cuttings about the boat, a video tape, and an album. Dominic's album was called his "Compton Castle Art Book". I may show that later. For now though a look at some clips from his tape.
