Compton Castle's wheelhouse was eventually removed, together with wheel and some other controls. They were transferred to a new boat being built for the Dart in 1963, the Conway Castle. She was eventually sold to 'Severn Leisure Cruises'. Although the old wheelhouse has since been replaced, the wheel is almost certainly the one Captain Steer handled on Compton Castle's last trip.
